Noise and vibrations

An important requirement for environmental assesment is noise and vibration assesment, in order to identify the areas where permissible limits are exceeded, which can cause significant damage on human health and/or wildlife, both terrestrial and aquatic.

Aiming to improve the quality of life, we assess the impact of noise upon human receptors and biodiversity, in order to develop pertinent sollutions to decrease negative effects, where needed.

In addition to european law’s requirements, using methods perfected by our experts at CEPSTRA GRUP, we are able to offer a wider range of information through sound mapping, for example, data regarding noise levels generated by air traffic for each building’s facade, taking into account the shielding effect , an aspect neglected by european legislation in the field of ambient noise, applicable in airports’ surroundings (where planes fly at low altitude).

Therefore, in industrial noise assesment, from the way data is collected, we are able to ensure additional precision within the evaluations conducted.

The technique used for obtaining the input data is essential in mapping, because the accuracy of the outcome results depends on the quality of the input data. It prevents the occurrence of GIGO sittuations (Garbage In, Garbage Out).

The quality of acoustic modelling offered by CEPSTRA GRUP ensures a better precision in obtaining the outcome data, when a reduction measurements plan is in order, with favorable effects on the the volume of investments needed.

Also, by drafting action plans we offer customized solutions in order to reduce noise level.

Additionaly, in developping BREEAM studies needed in building design (for living spaces, work spaces, etc) it is imperative to take into account the acoustic environment where the future facility will be built, so that the measures taken for exterior noise protection are according to the given ambiance.

Through propper acoustic modelling for building design and accurate evaluation of noise sources, the engineer designer will be able to collect precise data on the L10 noise level for each facade and at various heights. In this manner, the adequate design of the building’s facade will be in compliance with the noise limits imposed by law, and at the same time, it will generate cost optimization for the investor, as regards to the materials needed for the facades.

CEPSTRA GRUP develops noise studies for wind farm projects.

CEPSTRA GRUP has advanced know-how and experience in identifying and applying noise level reduction measures in all situations where compliance with the legislation on this matter is needed.

GIS support for data analysis and interpretation in acoustic mapping

The GIS technologies are used for the design of geo-spatial thematic specific layers to environmental protection in order to geoprocess environmental information.( chimneys, roads, settlments, industrial platform)
